Publications!

Exciting news! I was happy last month to be contacted by a local photographer (we had connected via Facebook as she shot many of my fav pics from the models portfolio I hired for the lookbook) to provide my Fall 2013 Gilded Eccentric clothing line and accessories for wardrobe for a shoot! It was so much fun working with Molly and the model Briauna, all the way here for a short trip from New York!

Well, after being sent a few sneak peaks from the photog (we cant share them, as the shoot was being submitted for publication) I was dying to post some of her amazing work, featuring my line! I now have news that she has split the shoot up into two editorials, and both have been picked up for publication from two locations in the next two months! Very excited, and this will be the first real bit of press Gilded Eccentric will be featured in!

Here is an exclusive preview of the editorial ‘Captivated’, which will be featured in the Summer issue of Seek.Me Magazine :

The second set Catch the Tide’ set will be published in the June issue of BeauNu Magazine. I’ll post exact dates and a preview of that when I receive more info!

Hand-eye Coordination: My new side hobby!

The last thing I needed to do when building a new brand and continuing my custom work in fashion illustration was find a new thing to siphon some time into, but I couldn’t help myself : ) I have discovered the world of polymer clay miniatures! Im not a doll collector or miniatures hoarder, but I’ve really gotten into sculpting little mini foods and, my latest non-food item, pug charms!

You can see my full set of doll/collector miniatures, jewelry and charms at my new Etsy shoppe! Stick around for a couple new illustration postings to see what my pencil has been up to lately! Or, to stay in the immediate loop be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram! ^.^

Poshmark – my latest addiction

When I’m not sketching, I’m Poshing!

About a week ago I came across this iPhone/iPad app when searching for avenues to promote and sell my first solo fashion line. Poshmark is this awesome app designed with fashion in mind, linking women all over the country to shares and shop eachothers closet! Wizardly you say? Pretty much. With the a few clicks on your iPhone you can live list anything in your closet. Now, for a repeat shopping addict like myself (I got it from my mama) this ideal sounded sketchy at best.

Sell, sell things in my closet? Things I tote around but never wear? People pay for these things? This is madness.

It is in fact very true. In the last week I’ve made over a good $200. Thats a fair slice of cheddar that otherwise would be taking up valuable real-estate in my closet. Because lets face it, those of us with the shopping bag change out minds about our style faster than most teenage girls do about their prom dresses. This app reminds alot of, if you can wrap your mind around this, the awesomeness of Pinterest, but for shopping. *__*

So the point of this post? Promotion of course, because if you join and enter the code HYJCI we BOTH earn $5.00 free credits courtesy of the Poshmark team, to spend on anyone’s closet! One of the most generous sign-up hooks I’ve come across. And, purely because I want to share this with other women. When signing up my husband said “Sell stuff? In this ecomnoy? *scoff scoff scoff*”. Well, each purchase is serving him up a heaping helping of humble pie- revenge is a dish best served in yo’ face.
